NOVA: Volcanoes of the Deep

From the PBS series Space Age

Director of Photography,
Mark Knobil

An examination of the life forms in one of the most hostile and exotic ecosystems on Earth—deep-sea volcanic vents. Shot from ocean research vessels travelling around the world, and even in manned submersibles travelling deep in to the ocean. After his success with this show and with the Titanic projects, Mr. Knobil is now known in documentary circles as the "go to boat guy" (much to his dismay) when any project is planned for the difficult shooting environments found in the middle of the ocean.
